Brook Park
An elongated park close to St Mary Cray through which the River Cray flows. The site is hemmed in between Sevenoaks Way and Main Road with entry points from Main Road and Brooks Way. The southern section of the site forms a large expanse of water with much water fowl and wildlife with the main flow then narrowing via a weir into a stream with riverbanks and pathways alongside. The Friends Group goes under the name of the Friends of Brook Park but the site is widely referred to as the 'Watermeadows'. The Friends of Brook Park are a small voluntary group who take part in maintenance projects in the park and also carry out a regular weekly ‘litter pick’. The Group combines with the Friends of Riverside Gardens - the sites being in fairly close proximity.
